HOPWA-Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS
HOPWA is a Federally-funded program designed to prevent people with AIDS from becoming homeless or to assist them to secure stable housing. The goal is by maintaining stable housing, clients will be more likely to be productive in their communities, and be medication complaint related to HIV. Households may receive financial assistance with Transitional Housing, Rent, Mortgage, and Utilities
At least one member of the household must provide proof of a Symptomatic HIV or AIDS diagnosis and the total household income cannot exceed 80% of the area median income, currently $49,300 per year for a household of four.
