The Lee County Community Action/Neighborhood District Committee Advisory Board is an advisory board to the Lee County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC). They participate in planning, program performance evaluation and guidance on programs impacting the lives of low-income and at-risk residents of Lee County. While final authority rests with the BoCC, the CAA/NDC provides valuable input on the Community Services Block Grant Action Plan, the HUD Consolidated Plan and Neighborhood District funding. Thanksgiving Volunteers Needed

Thanksgiving is approaching and the Feeding the 5000 committee is working hard to make sure that all needy families receive a meal on Thanksgiving Day. “Feeding the 5000” is a Thanksgiving program that works to insure that no one in our area goes hungry at Thanksgiving. It is a grass roots effort of neighbors helping neighbors where every penny raised goes to providing families with traditional meals at Thanksgiving. Hurricane Shelter Training

In an effort to better prepare our community for the hurricane season, the American Red Cross and Lee County Emergency Management are working to develop disaster volunteers to staff hurricane shelters. There are roles for every skill level or physical ability. As a shelter staff volunteer, you and your family will know what your plan will be in the case of a hurricane.
