Charlotte County Transit Service for Transportation Disadvantaged Passengers. Sunshine Ride removes several obstacles to transportation often experienced by elderly, disabled, low-income or rural residents. The services operates to connect passengers to medical centers, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other similar destinations. Sunshine Ride passengers pay a $1.00 co-payment for each one-way trip. TO qualify, riders complete an application that takes 2-3 business days for processing. Once enrolled in the service, 48 hour notice is recommended, as trips are arranged on a first come, first served basis.
